Our goal is to keep each beach goer safe because here in Alexandria, we know how dangerous it could be without knowledge. Alexandria overlooks the Mediterranean Sea, so beaches are where we always head. That is why we picked this challenge specifically.
Our idea is to create a system which controls the gates of the beach and keeps tracking any event that may affect on the beach goer.Provided that the beach goer gets to have a mobile application which helps him through his search for the safest beach. It also gives him a list of what to do and to keep away from the beach. When the system decides that this beach isn't safe it closes the gates, alerting all the users on site to leave.
We decide to start working on a reponsive web application then on a mobile application. Our web application is nearly finished. So, we are working on our mobile application to introduce it to the market as soon as possible
Baywatch mainly monitors the weather and HABs for each beach. It also provides the user with information about UV radiation index, humidity, salinity, waves' height and hurricanes. It can tell you if the beach is suitable for kids or not and what the sand could treat. The user might be exposed to UV radiation with large amount without noticing the harmful effects of that. So, one of our main goals is to provide the application with some precaution in each case for the user to take. In addition to that our informative layer will hold data about HABs, how to react and what to do at any situation. When the system is established, we will keep count on gates of how many visitors which will be added as a feature on the application.
