Create crew-friendly designs for a habitat and/or its multi-use furniture, to be used for isolation studies on Earth that are researching the environmental and human dimensions of life on another planet.


Diversity is a complex of scientific and educational tools for engaging young enthusiasts to projects of deep space exploration.

The Challenge

The challenge is to design a layout for the hab that would accommodate all the activities that take place inside it. You may also, or instead design an energy- or space-saving piece of furniture or appliance to be used in the hab.


Declared missions to explore the solar system make this task a challenge not for the future, but for the present. In particular, the future mission of NASA Deep Space Gateway requires fresh view and new approaches to the creation of a new generation orbital station.

Most engineers of leading space companies are used to applying standard approaches and think creatively rarely. The modern space industry needs to create tools to grow engineers with a progressive vision.


Friends, remember the time when you were children. And remember, as a child, we all dreamed on the space? What is there in childhood? - we still dream! And now it's time to realize our childhood dreams!

Diversity is a global complex for the collective creativity of free personalities. It aims at the development of a new generation of space researchers and the promotion of space among children and youth.

Diversity allows you to develop and test your own orbital station for the deep space exploration.

Diversity is a hab that contains a set of tools including Software, Hardware, and facilities an imitation of life on a real orbital station.

Software tools include

  • a virtual assistant
  • an environment for modeling station components
  • tools of augmented reality.

Hardware tools include

  • a rapidly assembled modular structure of the station's compartments
  • tools for testing own projects
  • 3D printing tools
  • a set of electronic devices (robotics, communications, optics, etc.)
  • inflatable expandable modules.

Diversity helps to solve the problem of creating and design internal equipment and furniture of the station. In this way, young engineers will find solutions that break the borders of regular things.

The location of such complexes around the world will give a strong impetus to the development of scientific and technological progress and will be a fundamentally new approach to the design problem.

During the Hackathon we created real model for training in robotics, electronics, and control systems, also we developed an interactive helper application.

In addition we designed 3D model of hab.

Future of Diversity

Our mission is to open a network of such habs around the world to bring a new perspective on the space industry. Communication with youth people the game approach will be a new stage in the conquest of the deep space.
