The Challenge | Where's the Water?

Use satellite and other data to allow farmers, landowners, and land managers in your locale to identify and visualize water resources in their surroundings.

I found the water

Our idea is to create a website & mobileapp on which a user can log in and it will detect his/her position and search on the nearby area for under/surface water and will notify him on a google-maps based map about the nearest water and it's quantity.

Smart_Teens

our project aims to help farmers in Upper Egypt and in poor regions to find the nearby water without having to have pre-technical skills or equipment. The most difficult challenge was to process NASA data generated by Grace satellite. We used MATLAB to process the nc files and to plot a 3D figures. Following, we plan to make a device like metal detector which a farmer can use to see if there is underwater beneath his feet, the device would have a screen to present the quantity of water and how far it's beneath the ground, our device will detect it’s own location once it’s on! And will receive data from our website server, which got it’s data from NASA GRACE dataset and processed it to an understanding data to our device, regarding the surrounding water near this location.
