Users will be able to register individually, by their government(in bulk) or any other public or private institution (for example: University or Municipality).
In case of fire activities, users near activity in a range of minimum 10 kilometers, will be informed with SMS and an email .
SMS (or Email) will contain an alert message that informs you for fire activities near you and a link where you can report for more information like: where fire has started, where fire is spreading or might spread, best paths for rescue and fire management teams to enter and best paths to help people evacuate.
Submitted data by users, will be processed and provided to institutions and interested entities for further analysis and usage.
System will use LANCE:NASA Near-Real-Time data imagery, NASA FIRMS and regional and local APIs and sources to determine the area of fire, to have a better information for situation and the paths of rescue.
System workflow will go through three steps:
1. Main data sources are NASAs open APIs, such as LANCE:NASA and NASA FIRMS for active fire data. Google Maps API and Google Roads API are used for data visualization and roads metadata. If any, local and regional data sources are used for accuracy. Another important source is data inputted by users.
2. Most advanced and newest technologies are used for data storing and processing. Server-side languages such as Java will be used since it offers speed and reliability. SQL domain database management systems are used to store users data.
3. Our system uses Bulk SMS API services as main channel for informing and spreading information since it is more widely used and reliable. Website is used for registration and detailed analyses data, and optionally monthly email notifications. Registered users can update their personal information, for example address, phone number etc.
