INTRODUCTION
AllinOne is a GIS application that, as its name suggests, visualizes various sorts of data on a single map. The application allows the user to search and find important factors of sustainable life design: economic, environmental, and social statistics of neighborhoods. It will help people find ideal locations for their houses and offices taking budget, safety, landscape, etc. into consideration. The prototype presented in NASA Space App Challenge 2017 at ISAC Boston focuses on the usage in Boston area.
DATA AND CONFIGURATION
AllinOne incorporates data sets collected from the following sources: Map Service for the 2016 USA Crime Index, the 2015 Unemployed Population, the green space, and Feature Service for the Boston’s Hospitals. Green space, coastal area and temperature map data will be also incorporated in future.
AllinOne's data are initially generated on ArcGIS. There are various features available on esri's official website and some data are created from Mapbox as well. Datasets are such as shapefiles (polygon/raster), CSV, KML, Tile layer using API and so on. On NASA website and other enviornmental/social/economic related website, plenty of data are available too therefore we can expand usage of this app with all the data. Data comes from http://www.mass.gov/, Esri, Boston GIS (GIS Team), Mapbox and so on.
FUTURE PLAN
Sustainability:The rich relationships contained in the datasets can be brought out by various machine learning algorithms – as simple as running trained models from H2o.ai and Apache’s SystemML.
Life Cycle: Possibilities are endless. Priority would be to tackle low hanging fruit (so to say) but we hope this app becoming a google maps for answering more economic and ecological questions.
SpaceApps is a NASA incubator innovation program.
