The Challenge | Small Spaces, Big Ideas!

Create crew-friendly designs for a habitat and/or its multi-use furniture, to be used for isolation studies on Earth that are researching the environmental and human dimensions of life on another planet.

It is a project to create a living space within the criteria set for astronauts living on Mars.

  • The created habitat is designed for a 1022 square-foot area. The project included the first floor clinical room, the laboratory, the garden and the bathroom rooms, which should be primarily isolated. These sections are designed to the required dimensions and comfort is taken into account.
  • At the same time, the sports and study room on the first floor is planned to be large enough for astronauts to have a pleasant time.
  • Contrary to other projects, there are 2nd floor bedrooms and kitchen. It is designed in the most appropriate way in accordance with the criteria determined in these areas. At the same time, the kitchen has been kept large, making it a comfortable common living area.
  • The third floor is planned to be used as a warehouse.
  • On the fourth floor, it is planned to find algae.
