Wildlife Watch

Wildlife Watch is a platform to enable individuals to contribute to ecosystem migration monitoring at a local level. Along with analytics and mapping to allow analysis and data support for policy change at a community and global level.

Wildlife Watch

Our team identified that climate change and deforestation is having an effect on ecosystems, but individuals have little to no means of aiding in monitoring the problem or having the data to take action in their local area.

We built a mobile app, web app and backend infrastructure to allow individuals to tag animals they see in their local area in seconds, feeding into a global database of wildlife tagging. The mobile app allows tagging while the web app provides mapping of tag events across the globe, with the ability to search on local areas, filter animals and share maps between members of the community.

Further to this we've embedded data from the Global Forest Watch, allowing users to view tagging events correlated with deforestation data to allow for pattern discovery.
