The project consist of a series of Bosch XDK sensors, which measures temperature, humidity, pressure and luminocity, which is distributed in a certain area (in this case the Chapultepec forest). Each sensor is connected to the network. It sends information through an app to a device where a fire has occured in the forest. The app is able to get information of the wind from a database in the specific area therefore it predicts where the fire will spread. By knowing this, it will indicate to people how to get to the nearest safe spot.
The sensors can also send a warning alert to recue teams when a fire is detected, as well as the fastest route to arrive at the sinister scene and the direction of the propagation.
SpaceApps is a NASA incubator innovation program.
