Fire Cast is a tool that will help users report areas that are likely to catch on fire.

We always see firefighters fighting fires. With global warming increasing the Earth’s temperature, we see fires becoming more extreme, with firefighters taking weeks, or maybe even months to control and diminish it. With this app fire-fighters can get a ahead of the action and take less time to take out fires.

Our app lets users be informed about the danger of a fire occurring in their area. Users will see a color coded map with the range going from red and yellow to green, each a different chance of a fire. Crowdsourcing data from users as well as satellites gives us a higher chance of accuracy.

Red = High Chance --> 75-100%

Yellow = Average --> Chance 25-75%

Green = Low Chance --> 0-25%

  • Users who want to help spread awareness of the likeliness of a fire raging anywhere in the world can finally do it
  • Firefighters and civilians can be informed about the likeliness of a fire breaking out
  • When a user reports an area as extremely likely near a forest or an area with a lot of fauna, firefighters will be notified so they can prevent the fire before it even begins.

Our target market are nature-lovers, scientists, and firefighters

Someone made something similar to what we have done, but our app is very unique and different from other websites. Our creation is in an all in one app: there are satellite provided data, user input, fire prevention warnings will be sent to firefighters in areas with a high probability, and weather conditions will also be used to graph the colors all over the map of California for now.

  • Including data from satellites for more accuracy
  • Creating a wider range of probability colors
  • When you are going near a red zone, an alert will come up saying warning you of a high chance of a fire starting.
  • Finish the application not only for California, but national or maybe even international
  • We will add extra environmental considerations such as the weather, rainfall etc.
  • When users mark an area with an extremely likely chance for a fire, that could spread easily, it will alert the nearby firefighters. So they can prevent the fires before it starts
