A mobile application that shows simulations of wildfires and proyections of future spreads. It also can show the ubication of other firefighters.
We wanted to give the users (firefighters) a tool to visualize current wildfires, current position of other firefighters and projections of the possible spread of the fire in a zone.
We did this using the Modis and Viirs satellite data to find and report new fires and we build our own simulator based on cellular automata that takes into account the wind, the fuel consumed and in a future the geography of the terrain. With this, we can provide better evaluation of the strategies begin taken by the firefighters.
