What motivated us to deal with this issue were some aerial photographs taken by NASA.Here is the link: https://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/Features/WorldOf...

We made the video by using GoAnimate.

We would like to thank the organizers of the Bootcamp in Larisa for being in touch with us and helping us so much.

AirTravelling Stories (Space Apps Challenge 2017)

THE CHALLENGE (Pilots Plus):

Provide private aircraft pilots and passengers with an easy-to-use tool that gives information about the land underneath their flight plans.

THE SOLUTION:

We thought of the challenge. Finally, we had an idea which is very simple. It's a smartphone application. It combines GPS technology and crowd-sourcing.

First of all, users will have to pay a small fee and download the app. There is a reason for this; we believe that this economic interaction adds interest and credibility. Hopefully the users will be motivated to enter information and collect their reward as free access to the app as we explain later. The profits should be used for NASA's educational and research projects.

When they are connected to the Internet, they will be able to mark the route of their trip on a map on the front page. Then the app will download automatically information. While being in the plane and passing above regions, they will receive notifications about their location, its climate, its culture, points of interest and its natural habitat.

Part of the information will have been uploaded by other users. They will be rewarded by having the app for free for a period of time.An other part will be air photographs or historic facts.

Every user will be able to choose the kind of information being sent according to their criterion of interest: history, environment, geographical facts etc.

The output - depending on available bandwidth and user preferences - will vary between short notifications to rich content videos that will be entertaining and educational.
