The devastating flood of July, 2013 and 2008 in Bihar, India
where my family was one of the victims where I first realized how easily nature
can take hundreds of life’s and how dangerous it can be. But we are in the era
of technology where we can minimize the causalities.
My intention with this project is to use space technology for the service of Mankind, ‘Rahat’ is a platform especially for the resilience of poor and the people in vulnerable situations on or before the natural disaster along with a forum for communication within the rescue team, local volunteer and victims. What makes the app unique is it’s ‘Rescue Me’ and ‘Alert’ feature. This app will be useful not only for the common people but for the tourist also to plan their trip.
Weather Inputs, Risk Evaluation, Water Level Graph, Wise Route are the features provided by this app along with the Weathercast (Nowcast, Forecast).
SpaceApps is a NASA incubator innovation program.
