Nasa Space Apps Challenge is a hackathon happening simultaneously in over 170 cities all over the world organized with the goal to help collaboratively develop innovative solutions for global problems by producing open-source results to challenges that are relevant to both life on Earth and life in space.

The Rome event is organized by the European Space Agency, the United States Embassy and La Sapienza University with the sponsorship of the Italian Space Agency, Bic Lazio, FabSpace 2.0, CloudSigma, Orange Business Services, Logica Informatica, Meta-Group, Fondazione Mondo Digitale, Capgemini Italy and Microsoft.

Come Partecipare

La partecipazione, completamente gratuita, è aperta a tutti gli appassionati di qualsiasi background ed età. L’evento inizia la mattina di Sabato 29 Aprile alle ore 8:30 e si conclude il pomeriggio di Domenica 30 Aprile alle ore 19:00 con l’annuncio dei vincitori locali di quest’anno. Non dimenticare di registrarti su questa pagina relativa all'evento di Roma.

Team

Puoi creare un team in qualsiasi momento a partire da adesso fino al giorno stesso dell’evento sfruttando il Telegram Bot che verrà messo a disposizione a breve. Il tuo team dovrà scegliere una challenge tra quelle disponibili su 2017.spaceappschallenge.org/challenges. Sarà inoltre necessario che almeno una persona del tuo team abbia una buona conoscenza dell’inglese, lingua in cui troverai tutte le informazioni sulle challenge e che dovrà essere usata domenica mattina per la presentazione finale del progetto.

Informazioni generali

Per lavorare non dimenticare di portare il tuo laptop, una ciabatta e qualsiasi altro materiale necessario.

Dal pranzo di sabato 29 al pranzo di domenica 30, tutti i pasti verranno offerti ai partecipanti nella mensa dell’università.

Se vuoi fermarti per dormire o lavorare durante la notte, porta un sacco a pelo e uno stuoino: si dorme letteralmente sul pavimento!


To Participate

Participation is completely free and open to all enthusiasts no matter their background or age. The event starts Saturday morning at 8:30 AM and ends Sunday afternoon at 7:00 PM with the announcement of this year’s local winners. Don’t forget to register on this page if you want to participate from the Rome location.

Team

You can create your team anytime from right now to the day of the event by using the Telegram Bot that will be made available soon. Your team will need to choose a challenge among the ones available at 2017.spaceappschallenge.org/challenges.


General information

Don't forget to bring your own laptop, a power strip and anything else you might need.

All meals are offered in the university canteen from Saturday’s lunch to Sunday’s lunch.

If you want to work all night bring your own bed sack and pad: you will sleep on the floor!

  2. Registration closes. All participants gather in AULA 1.

  3. Prof. Paolo Gaudenzi, Director of the Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace Department, La Sapienza, welcomes guests and participants and gives the floor to SKY journalist Marta Meli.

  4. Steve Labensky, U.S. Embassy Cultural Attachè.
